After working for Pitney Bowes for almost 18 years, and then for Novitex for 2, I decided to leave my Director position with the company.

Pitney Bowes Management Services (PBMS) was a great company. It was not perfect (but then what company is?), but it allowed for growth, new learning opportunities, and the chance for people to prove themselves. It also, generally speaking, worked to ensure the management and HR structures aligned well and held people accountable.

When PBMS was sold and became Novitex, it became a truly horrible organization. As a Director with almost 300 employees, reporting up through a dozen managers, I can tell you that there was continual push-back on senior leadership on matters regarding ethical decisions on the fair treatment of employees, and our maintaining positive relationships with clients.

I can state for a fact that management was told to rate employees poorly on annual reviews in order to reduce/eliminate any merit increases (which rarely came anyway), as well as remove annual incentive payouts for managers. Managers were also informed every quarter that, "You need to find" XXX number, "of people to cut". This was done despite the impact to customer operations. In my field of government operations, this is blatant fraud - having the federal government pay for contracted services and resources that they are not receiving. On top of this, there became what was a daily ritual of dealing with the continual integration of new applications (i.e., ADP, Workday, etc...) that did not include any training, and ultimately caused employees issues with time entry and missing pay.

If you are still working for Novitex, my guidance is to leave as soon as possible. There are fantastic companies out there looking to reward hard-working individuals. As former leadership, I can tell you that Novitex does not care about its employees - there is no concern for family life, employee well-being, or fair and equal treatment. It has simply dissolved into a company that works to bring in 'warm bodies' to perform sub-par services.

As a former PBMS Account Manager, I will tell you that this is exactly why I too left the company. Raises were an insulting 2 percent, or none at all, even for excellent performance.

My P&L statements were doctored by corporate without my knowledge or consent.

Leaving was the only choice for me and should have resigned sooner. I have since gone on to a successful career in the tech industry.

I think this company is waiting for a class action lawsuit from its former and current employees. A former director like you could help out a lot with that. Would you be willing to talk to a lawyer?

In a meeting our GM told us that we cant get a raise unless we got a 5 star rating which he said was impossible. The company and HR would say things like pay freeze indefinitely, but if you complained theyd usually throw you something to keep you quiet.

One guy at my office been there much longer than me and worked harder than everybody but he was quiet and made less than everybody. It was very apparent to me from the start that this company doesn't care about its employees, and I kinda just took advantage where I could. But in the end I still did more for them than they deserved.

Havnt worked for them for 2 years but it still bothers me that they treated me and my co workers so poorly. I also remember them lying to the customer and using the contract to pay for other sites.

You are not the first to mention the fact that Novitex asks management to give subpar evaluations to justify no wage increases; it is not surprising with this company. Do you have any documentation to support your claim?

Or maybe Novitex wouldn't email or write out those instructions because they know it is unethical.

That has to be a violation of labor law right? At the minimum, it really should help to bury this company and put it out of its misery.
